I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Growing up, I was always interested in creating things. From legos, to art classes, to wood working, my childhood was filled with creation and design. After high school, I attended Texas A&M University studying architecture.

 

In the summer of 2009 while in college at Texas A&M,  a friend of mine introduced me to pipe smoking. I didnt know it at the time, but that was the beginning of an incredible journey of making pipes. Instead of buying a pipe, I set out to make one with the knowledge available online. I have always enjoyed wood working and making things, and thought making a pipe would be a fun project. That fun project has turned into something of an obsession.

 

Over the course of the next 9 years, I honed my craft in several locations. In college, I studied architecture. In the six years of undergraduate and graduate level studies, I found that the same ideas and thoughts that shape architecture into a building are used to shape a block of briar into a pipe. Form, function, proportion, parti, detailing, and durability all apply equally to both architecture and pipe making. These principles inspire and drive my pipe making philosophy.
